Un fraile Dominico llega a las Indias en el siglo XVI, dispuesto a cambiar el mundo, pero es el “Nuevo Mundo” el que termina por cambiarlo a él. Obligado por sus superiores, participa como capellán en la expedición de conquista de los mares del Sur, capitaneada por el alemán Ambrosio Alfinger. El fraile se verá forzado a vivir como uno más entre los indios caribeños, mientras estos ponen a prueba sus convicciones y hasta su cordura. Jericó obtuvo 16 premios internacionales y fue nominada al Goya como mejor película iberoamericana.

At early 16th century, a Dominican priest arrives in the Indies, ready to change the world, but it is the "New World" that ends up changing him. Compelled by his superiors, he participates as chaplain in the conquest expedition of the South Seas, captained by the German Ambrosio Alfinger. The priest will be forced to live as one among the Caribbean Indians, while they test his convictions and even his sanity. Jericó won 16 international awards and was nominated for the Goya as the best Ibero-American film.
