Esta comedia parte con el día de la jubilación de Francisco (Nelson Villagra). De pronto se siente inútil, sin nada que hacer, lo que se ve agravado por su estado civil de viudo. No le permiten seguir enseñando y comienza un camino hacia la depresión. Afortunadamente sus dos amigos Tito (Julio Jung) y Pacheco (Jaime Vadell), lo perciben y le regalan un viaje para jubilados. Le tienen que obligar, pero los tres juntos toman el tren que les llevará a los hermosos paisajes publicitados de las termas de Chillán. En la misma excursión están Lucy (Gloria Münchmeyer), una antigua enamorada de Francisco, Carmen (Delfina Guzmán), que es feliz disfrutando de lo que la vida le depara sin ningún tapujo y Nicolás (Héctor Noguera), un homosexual al que le ha dejado su pareja recientemente.
